Data Link University College is a co-educational secular institution of higher learning, offering a range of academic programmes into which it admits applicants with different academic back­grounds. The University’s academic programmes cover sub-degree certificates/diplomas and Bachelors' degrees. As a policy, the University admits applicants from all races and nationalities, irrespective of their religious, cultural, social or ethnic persuasions.

For some time to come there will be two levels of admissions to the undergraduate degree programmes. These are the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary and Advanced Levels candidates to level 200 and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE) candidates to level 100.

General Certificate of Education:

  1. Passes, at least to a credit level in five subjects (including English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject and a Science subject) in the West African Examinations Council, General Certificate of Education (GCE), West Africa School Certificate (WASC) Ordinary Level examinations and three passes at the Advanced Level of the GCE.
  2. One of the Advanced level passes should be a grade D or better. A pass in General Paper will be an advantage.
  3. In exceptional circumstances, applicants with 2 passes at 'A' Level, whose grades shall not be lower than 'C', may be admitted.
  4. Candidates who are deficient in 'O' Level Mathematics or English or Science may make up with examination in Core Mathematics or Core English or Core Integrated Science at the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSCE) Level.
  5. Similarly, Science candidates who are deficient in an Arts subject may make up with Core Social Studies.

Senior Secondary School Certificate:
  1. Passes in the four (4) core subjects, namely, English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies and three (3) Elective Subjects, with an aggregate score of 24 or better in the WAEC Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations.

Other qualifications Professional/Diploma/HND Certificates including International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE), the American Grades 12, 3 examinations, and other external qualifications, which have equivalences to the SSSCE and the GCE. Candidates with external qualifications are admitted to either Level 100 or Level 200, depending on the nature of qualification and their equivalences to local qualifications.

Mature persons applying for admission, who do not satisfy the approved requirements, must have reasonable education and working experience and should have attained a minimum age of twenty-eight at the time of submitting the application. Such applicants will be required to write the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination. Alternatively, such candidates may wish to attend the University’s Trimester Session to qualify for admission.

Foreign students may pursue courses towards the award of Data Link University degreee or as visiting students, studying for the degrees of their own universities. The University attaches great importance to the cross-cultural experience that is made possible by the presence of foreign students on campus. The successful participation of international students in our courses will help us to acquire an excellent reputation for the quality of our teaching and research and of our student care services. Foreign students may be admitted if they hold qualifications equivalent to those listed above. Evidence of a command of the English Language at the Ordinary Level of the GCE or its equivalent is required.

There is a one-year English proficiency course (without specific entry requirements) for candidates who do not have the requisite English language background.

A candidate who has been enrolled as a regular student in a Bachelor’s degree course in a recognised university or an institution of higher learning and made satisfactory progress for at least two consecutive semesters may be considered for admission.The academic transcripts and certificate of good conduct of the student, duly signed by the Registrar of the University in question, will be assessed and placed accordingly except that such a student should accumulate at least 70% of the minimum credits hours required for graduation at Data Link. The classification of the degree will be based only on the courses taken at this University College.

Candidates who qualify for admission to any of the University programmes but are only interested in auditing some courses may apply for admission in the normal way provided there is room in the class. The term audit refers to registration for attendance only. Such students will be issued with certificate of attendance signed by the Head of Department and Faculty Dean at the end of the period of attendance.

The same tuition fees will be charged as in the case of normal registration for courses.
